Dale Lunt, Principal

Born in Willcox, Arizona, Dale Lunt is an Arizona native. He and his family have lived in Gilbert for 35 years. During his free time, Dale enjoys reading, spending time with his wife, Suzanne, their children, and grandchildren, serving in the community, and supporting ASU athletics.

Mr. Lunt joined Oak Tree Elementary in 2012 after spending 10 years as Assistant Principal at Desert Ridge Junior High School and six years as an administrator at Highland High School. His career began as a junior high school Spanish and Social Studies teacher at Pueblo Middle School in the Kyrene School District, where he taught for six years.

Mr. Lunt received his undergraduate degree from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, then went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.

Mr. Lunt truly believes that motivation and dedication on the part of families and the school result in a community of successful learners. This partnership is helping to build tomorrow's leaders. Additionally, he believes that establishing community partners is essential to enriching the community experience at Oak Tree Elementary. During his time at Oak Tree, the campus has received an “A” letter grade from the Arizona Department of Education for academics, and twice Oak Tree has been designated as an Arizona A+ School of Excellence by the Arizona Education Foundation.

At Oak Tree we SOAR (Safe, On-task, Accountable, Responsible) to excellence when we shown motivation and dedication. All of these things combine to help us to be successful learners and brilliant leaders!
